Juneau, Alaska, USA. In the rainforest, along the trail to the Mendenhall Glacier, one can see numerous large boulders left behind by the glacier as it retreated. Enjoy!

Looks a lot like some of the NE boulders you see around here too. The digging here also reminds one of the glacier deposits from thousands of years ago. Nice assortment of greens in the scenery.

We have quite a few of these large rocks here Thad. Those are the remnants from the ice age in Germany. Nice capture.

I would like to have that in my landscaping. I like all the moss and stuff on it. Cool lighting in this shot, Thad. Very nice.

Whoa, that's a big rock and looks like there might be a good bears den under that rock. Lovely capture ♥

I wouldn't want to stick my arm under the rock to see what has taken up residence Thad. Amazing what the glacier left behind. It must have been forgetful. Another beauty from your trip.

Seen some of these in Wisconsin in the areas where the glaciers retreated - very impressive scenery in this whole trip.

I am amazed how much it looks like here in Sweden, could have been taken in the woods near where I live. I love the moss covering the boulders. Very nice!

Judging by the amount of moss on it, that rock has been there for just a few years. It did drop off in some beautiful surroundings. Great lighting.

You should have brought it back for your flower garden. An interesting capture, Thad. Nice colours and textures in the photo.

Thad...My best guess is that this is neither Mick Jagger nor any of the Rolling Stones based on the amount of moss. I've never been to Sweden, but apparently now I know it looks like a large boulder with moss on it. Those glaciers can move mountains. Let's send one to Washington and see what's left.

Roger

P.S. Alaska must have provided more than a few Kodak moments. Beautiful shot again.
