Fairbanks, Alaska, USA. The Athabascans lived a semi-nomadic life style, living in a winter village, while migrating throughout the summer fishing and hunting. With interactions with Europeans, the Athabascans adapted their buildings, taking ideas from the Europeans. With a bark roof, this log house. The Chena River is in the background. Enjoy!

Now this looks like the perfect man getaway. This is perfect and I really like the hide tanning on the front of the cabin.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Thad, if I were a polar bear, think I would keep my distance, lol.

Thanks for this wonderful post my friend, revealing a part of the life of the Athabascans.

Regards, Cornelius.

That's the way to live! They took a good example for the roof. Must get mighty cold there.

Looks like Goldilocks decided to move in permanently. A nicely composed scene, Thad. Good details and textures in the photo.
