Denali National Park, Alaska, USA - July 2011. The one road in the park runs ninety miles from the visitor center to Wonder Lake, near Denali. For most of it, the road is little more than one lane wide. There is no loop; you travel out, turn around and come back. To maintain the wilderness environment, travel is restricted by permits. Taking the tour bus offers the opportunity to sit back and enjoy the scenery, with commentary from drivers who know the park well. The view at the Teklanika River, one of the braided rivers in the park, show 10,000 foot mountains farther up the valley that feed snowmelt to the river, as well as 'smaller' mountains closer by. Enjoy!
