Perched on the side of Blue Mist Ravines were these magnificent White Marasmius (Marasmius albuscortis) lit by a small shaft of light entering through the canopy. It is an obsession;-)

Sometimes I wonder if you live on a mushroom farm... ;-)

Seriously though... these mushrooms are fantastic. I think a slightly lower angle might have worked better though.

I think the angle and the composition are both perfect. 10 and in Favorites.

Superior is the right word. Agree with Tracy. I love when you capture the translucent quality and stand it out with a darker background.

This is one of your best mushroom shots ever. Damn near perfect (don't worry you got your 10 :p) but I think (although I'm quite unsure about this since I'm usually working the other way around) that you would add an extra quality if you got the depth of field large enough for the shroom at the top to be just as much in focus as the other ones. Other then that I love the composition and the level of lighting. Just my kind of shot.

Magnificent obsession! Sorry I missed this one before, but there are some benefits to browsing galleries. Most of your mushrooms rate 9 or 10 with me, but this is a step or two beyond. The lighting is sheer magic and, along with the shapes and the relationships in space, the result is just poetic.
