Sud Tirol (Alto Adige) is the most northern region of Italy, situated along the Austrian border. While this is still Italy, most inhabitants speak German, with Italian as a second language. The region is dotted with over 400 castles, manor houses and stately residences. I snapped this one while out for a Sunday drive. Thanks for viewing and leaving a comment.

The castle stands high above the valley and looks like a fortress. Nice find and very good capture Doug.

I love these old castles, because in addition to being beautiful and majestic, they keep themselves a lot of history, legends of the past.
