Up in the Italian Dolomites, the air is fresh and the views are priceless. I enjoy stumbling upon these little homes when out on a shoot up in the mountains. There are a few others homes in my gallery; all backed by mountain views. Thank you for visiting and leaving a comment.

I can't imagine living here given that I've lived most of my life in an urban area but I'd be willing to try with this kind of a view out my door! A beautiful shot Doug.

Strong composition, as per your usual.

Good good colours, as well.

Caveats?

I hope you don't mind me being bold here.. and I suspect that what you and your camera met up with, with regards to lighting conditions.. was challenging.

Top of the treeline?

Some haloing (and resultant 'noise' was seemingly introduced into the sky, too).

So.. might have pushed things (post processing/editing) a tad.

If you've not yet come across this on-site tutorial, have a look:

Faking the HDR thing... by philcUK.

Not looking for the 'fake HDR' effect.. more so.. and at least where Photoshop is concerned.. the Shadow/Highlight adjustment steps just might fit the editing/post processing bill.

Still and with that said.. make no mistake about my words above.. it is a gorgous setting and I, too, am enamoured with these 'little homes' that have withstood a goodly amount of passing time.

And..

But, of course.. thank you for sharing these looks through the lens while out and about during your travels.

(p.s. To make it easier for the interested viewer.. here is another from mirto's galleries that I particularly enjoyed: Mountain Retreat )

All homes there seem to be high domed,,...would that be because of the fall of snow ?..

a majestic view of this wonderful mountain region, I think you have captured this really well....

I like that building and more than that I like the background Doug. All three layers of background _ the greenery, the mountain and the sky look lovely.

Great shot. I just watched the Brad Pitt movie, "Fury". I could
easily see this house in the movie, (excluding the new roof). Great setting.

I almost get a "Sound of music" feeling from these photos. I know it's not the same region, but close enough.

Reminds me of when Michael Corleone hid out when he left America, Gibbs. The textures of the house looks great.
Most anything would look good with a mountain backdrop.

A very picturesque scene beautifully captured Doug.
It looks idyllic but would be a very isolated place to live maybe.

With the door padlocked like that nobody's home, no wonder it's so peaceful. Good composition of the photo and a great capture of the scene, Doug.
