Shot in a back alley in Venice, Italy. While most visitors flock to the main sites; the back alleyways offer so much for a photo hound. A possible entry for the darkest street contest, though I may have others to consider. As always, thank you for taking the time to look and leave a comment.

Doug, referring to your comment on Raj's post, see that you've succeeded in finding a suitable entry for the current contest. I just said 'suitable', but I must have said 'very suitable'.
Wish you Good Luck with it my friend.

Neat idea, Doug. The darkest street does not have to be shot at night or in darkness and the contest covers all kinds of techniques which I would like that everybody hesitating about going out at night remembers!!! Meaning specifically our sweet agent SAJ [Jimbo] ! LOL
Your street is not only dark but truly has a sinister touch about it...:)

That's is a very cool shot, Doug. A would be attacker could hide in there for hours waiting for an unsuspecting subject. Excellent entry for the contest. Good luck.

The gradual darkening and the lonely appearance make this a good entry for the contest Doug.

Like the contrast of dark and light...and makes me want to move forward to find out what is through that alley! Great contest entry.

Venice is my favourite town and I use to visit it as often as
possible. It offers so many locations for shooting photos in
that unbelievable mediterranean style. Great shot.

I like Your lighting on this Doug - even though it is dark where You are, the subject is lighted enough so that we are able to view the scene. Good Luck in the contest.

I think this is an excellent entry for the contest. Excellent depth and looks like a dead end, unless there's another one at the end that goes to the right. Venice is a wonderful place to explore I agree
