When visiting the Bridal Veil Waterfall in Sabie, I found this old tree trunk. It must've been lying there for very long, because it's covered with all kinds of different plants, moss and moulds. I think it broke in two very recently. The other part lying just below that one, is also covered all over like that.

my goodness! that is an interesting shot! The tree was almost grown over with all sorts of plant life - the contrast to the cut off part of the tree is very good - very sharp image.

Tremendous shot, Marietha and a wonderful medley of different textures and colours. Looks awesome at full size and it's so sharp I can even see the eyes and nose of a little green lizard peeping out from the middle of the newly-exposed wood. Love it!!!

Who would think that an old rotten log would make a good picture--but you did and you were right. So many interesting colors and textures involved in nature reclaiming its own. This is a fine composition and photographed with great clarity. Well done!
