Went on a drive today and passed a sign saying " Jessica the Hippo ". What an experience! In the link above you can read all about this amazing animal, so I won't say much about that. But to get to touch such an amazing animal and even give her a kiss and feed her rooibos tea with a big bottle was something I will never forget! This is her eye, the "tear" is lubrication and to clean the eyes from the dirt and river water. Please read her story.. it's totally amazing.

I just finished Jessica's story...how endearing to hear how she took to humans, became a movie star, and has several boyfriends...I urge all to read her story...a great testimony to the relationship that can be had between humans and animals.

Wow. I haven't had a chance to read the story so I will tomorrow. But for now I shall comment on the shot itself.
Beautiful. Just beautiful. I never thought I would be such emotion in the eye of a hippo. And the colour is so rich yet remains subtle. The eye is one of those intensely warm brown colours that make me feel warm inside.
Fab shot and I will fave this, not only cos I'm in love with it, also because I need to go to bed before I collapse and I really want to read this story =]

Nature in all her glory is my uplift on life.

I read that beautiful little story about Jessica...what wonderment people can do for animals, if only they would do it more often.
