Panoramic view of what was the heart of Rome when it ruled the world. The Imperial Way ran through the center of all of these monuments to the glory of Rome and its Emperors. This is a stich of the original shots with colors enhanced by Photoshop.

I like this for really one reason only....I enjoy everything roman! I wish I could visit Rome see everything. This is a wonderful shot. The people kind of take away from the monuments, but only because their clothes are bright colors. I really like this. Good job.

Hi ::toyman and PuMa. Thanks for your comments on this image. Rome was the very first place that I visited when I first went overseas.....it is a remarkable experience to see so much so well preserved!

Hi Rob, Rose and Cassie. Thanks for your comments. There was so much to see when I walked through this site - that its hard to capture when you only have a short time. This way, I can remember the walk in detail.

Amazing, when I look at the image my imagination reconstructs the buildings, and I see fantastic architecture of a fascinating empire.

What bugs me is that these ruins are always crawling with people who ruin the mood of the photograph. It's a great shot, but those little uncontrollable things (erm...people...) always seem to get in the way ;)

I was stationed in Italy in the 1960's and saw this. I wish I had been into photography at the time. Thanks for giving me a photo from my past.
