This is a "Rework" ... about a year in the making. Not by me ... by the Almighty. I had posted an earlier picture (now deleted) taken last summer of this Rose bush that produced but a single rose for years. I wrote then how I'd love to see a bush full of these beauties. The Man upstairs must have seen my posting and gave me a gift ... notice to the left a 2nd bud on this bush first time ever. Quite a gift ... don't you think? Can't wait for His gift to open. PS: Criticism of the photography ... not a problem. ... Criticism of the "subject" ... Best consider who your dealing with on that matter. :o)

What a beautiful capture of the rose. It looks like it could pop right off the screen. Excellent work.

I love the DOF and focus on this. Very nice sharpness and clarity on the flower. It really makes the rose stand out! Now as far as the flower goes.... er, um, nevermind. ;)

I was going to say it, too - it looks 3D! Here I go with focus-envy again - the rose is in such great focus!!! May I borrow your eyes? :)) Very nice composition, too. The colors in the background are rich and deep, contrasting nicely with the rose. I'm happy for you that your request for more blooms was fulfilled. Since you seem to have an "in" with the Big Guy, would you mind asking him ....... :)) - Patty

I think that is the most beautiful combination of two colors in a rose that I have ever seen. First class work by the creator. The photography ain't to shabby either. Nice. NTUR.

My neighbors have a rose plant up to their house, and when i see it when i leave for work, it brings me in a better mood, although my eyes are still half shut/awake !
Thanks for bringing this gift !

This picture is a reminder of what the Caedes site is all about: great images that also function as great wallpaper.

Thanks to one and all for the great comments above and for having the good sense not to criticize the subject "Rose" ... but Rob (viking_boy) you live on the edge my friend ... LOL

Just an old "Grampa" who still has a Kodak "Box" camera kicking around the attic ... learning and enjoying the wonders of modern digital photography.

A very nice shot of a rose Muggsy. I know what you mean. My roses have not done well for the last three years and I am about to dig them up and start anew. I have the "Last Rose of Summer" comming soon.

The name ChuPat is derived from my nickname Chuck and my wife of 34 years name Patti. Her photography will appear on Caedes as well from time to time. I consider myself an advanced amature not anyway close to being a professional. I have just taken photography more seriously since I have switched to digital. My profession has always been associated with pohtography in one way or another. Any criticism I receive will be well appreciated.

Yes, it is a rather shameless approach, but I will consider the source and move on to the composition at hand. Ahem! This rose is beautiful no matter what angle. I am jelous. My roses are not this nice. Shame on you.
