A piece of driftwood along the edge of the Withlacoochee River. After an 80 mile drive round trip and five hours of walking around in the Withlacoochee state forest the only signs of life I saw was a Robin and a Forest Ranger. I guess I'll give it another month before I head back to the River. There's a lot more wildlife in my backyard. >>Thanks to all for comments<<

A super vantage point Huck. It looks like a good place to sit and wait for a gator to drag you off. What a great view. Colors and clarity on perfecto.

That kind of looks like a similar driftwood I used for a decoration in my yard many years ago. The birds loved it. A wonderful capture Ed ... love how peaceful the river looks. I'm sure there will be more signs of life very soon.

We passed that river many times last summer. I so wanted to ditch my passengers and explore. It is a slow southern beauty. Thank you for sharing it.

What I really like about this photo is the colour and line of the water, and then the line of trees. Driftwood is always so interesting. It's heavy tho, filled with much water until the sun dries it out. Often that takes the whole Summer. I like this photo, the depth is great. Verena

Very good capture, Ed, with the driftwood in front and the trees lined up on the other bank. Very good clarity too. The weather is too cold for the gators and birds probably. We have temperatures between -2° and +2°. Never seen that at this time of the year!

Was the Forest Ranger a purdy lady? Put up a picture of her if she was. He he. That's a huge chunk of driftwood. You might be able to make something interesting outta that. Nice capture, Ed.

You did a great job on the comp. Very nice image. I know on alot of my walks in certain nature areas I rarely see much in wildlife, even duck or a goose. It seems like they have their choice spots. ♪ ♫ :)Sandi♪ =^..^=
