I may have a long story to post with this entry. =) These bridges were started in july of 2000 and completed in October of 2009. There is a railroad and a highway bridge next to eachother (hard to see in this picture) The traffic use to go over Ky Dam. They had to get the traffic off of the dam to make some repairs and improvements. I use to be a union construction worker, working on these bridges off and on my whole career. I assisted with the concrete in the later stages of the construction. The iron workers built a large RR truss on barges and floated it in place in August of 2009. (That was very neat) I will post some of the truss sometime. Anyways, I'm not real good at typing stories, but I figured I would give a little history on these bridges. I'm kind of partial, due to being a part of the construction.

I wouldn't want to get on your and Owd Momma's bad sides Nessa. That being said I appreciate your information and this cool shot.

I haven't been down that way since 2003, so I guess I haven't ever been over one of those bridges. Nice black and white shot, Nessa.

A fine job on your narrative and a great job on your photo. A nice angle in the shot and a good b/w presentation. Good work on the bridge; so which pier did you carve your initials on?

Beautiful bridge and you have captured it very well - I love the black and white effect - makes it more historic and corresponding to your story.

Actually you are really good at writing stories and even better at taking photos! I love the starkness of this image and the way the tiny details of the railings show up in your picture. Fantastico!

Super angle of this bridge over the great Ohio. I use to live in Louisville KY near the river. Where was this taken.
