My suggestion would be for some minor editing, to tighen up on the subject - as I think you were liking the lamps when you took this shot.
So some judicious cropping to remove the picnic benches and info sign on the top right, as well 'about an inch' off the bottom - would bring out the near lamp stand, and its echos along the path, which lead the eye into the distance.
If you're feeling adventurous - what does it look like in B&W - does this change the mood? Filters for the sky or warming up the sand tones to a 'toe blistering' heat level?
So many opportunities to play around with a nice little shot from the beach.
I really like the composition of this one. The broad boardwalk leads the viewer right into the picture, with the diminishing lamps reinforcing the movement. I like the suggestion of removing the distracting stuff... the sign, the picnic table, the garbage can... and by cropping as suggested, you will retain the same proportions of the pic...making it easy to use as a desktop.
Not bad Laura! I really like the view but maybe it needs just a tad bit more contrast. Or saturation. I'm not a pro at photo editing, but I know its one or the other..lol..Beautiful shot!
