Just one of my more cooperative begonias from last summer. I was raking through my trash today trying to find images and also doing some cleaning out before final archiving of last year's negatives on to CD, and she just popped up..so here's my sleeper :)

Shouldnt have waited so long to bring this beauty out PJ! She's beautiful! I really like the way you've taken away everything but the main subject from the view. It really puts the highlight where it needs to be! Excellent work Ms. PJ! I think even Caedes resident flower Queen, Marilynjane would be proud! C):-)

WHAT IS MAN WITHOUT THE BEASTS? If all the beasts were gone, man would die from a great loneliness of the spirit. For whatever happens to the beasts, soon happens to man. All things are connected. ~Chief Seattle VISIT MY GALLERY

And I'm glad she "popped up"! What a beauty! This is defiintely a keeper. I love the very stark contrasts here. The contrast of colors as well as the ever so soft looking petals contrasted with the jagged edges of the visible leaf are both very striking. Beautiful job.

Excellent capture,
the black effect in the edges is original or was you that you put it? In any way the image is very pretty..

Isn't it funny how the once overlooked comes to life. I love the lightness, the awakening of this image, PJ. There's a sense of purity triumphant. This one's a keeper.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Very nice job! The contrast between the white petals (blemish-free) and the fogging to black at the edges of the frame are very striking. Compositionally speaking, everything is where it needs to be to satisfy the eye - which is drawn to that white in the "rule of thirds" point. This picture is beautifully done, and by the book. Plus that DOF . . I'm starting to sound like my film school professor (bless his heart)!

Very tranquil calming, this is such a wonderful shot and very soothing to the eye. It is nature at its best. I really love how simple it is and the white is so pure looking. This will make a great desktop.
