A few people have asked me what’s so good about the PhaseOne CaptureOne Pro software I keep banging on about. Well here's a side by side comparison of the same shot processed once in Adobe Camera Raw and again in PhaseOne. The results kind of speak for themselves.

OK, my turn to say WOW!. I think most impressive is the difference in burned out foliage in the background or not. Like magic, thanks for the demonstration. And how much does this little program cost?

I'll vouch for C1 Pro's excellence. I use it for the rare occasion that I shoot RAW. To say the least, it blows everything else completely out of the water. Well worth the price, if you need it.

You can achieve a similar colour result by tweaking the Adobe settings heavily but even with noise suppression on, it is virtually unusable whereas the PhaseOne seams to be able to mine every last ounce of data out of the shot.
