The new multinational crew approach the ISS in their Soyuz spacecraft earlier this week. At a change of command ceremony Friday afternoon, the Expedition 15 crew formally handed over command of the ISS to Expedition 16. Most of the Expedition 15 crew will undock from the station Sunday and land in the steppes of Kazakhstan. The remainder of the old crew will return with the STS-120 shuttle mission later this month.

Super view, and the details of the smoke are great.

I was wondering, even if only in general terms, how you'd feel about stating what type(s) of editing you apply to your work.

I occasionally do but not always as it seems repetitive - almost always as a basic thing, I use PictureCodes Noise Ninja to clean out sensor noise. Additionally sharpness and contrast both in light and colour are ramped up, as orbital shots tend to be a little thin in both respects.

For this shot, additional work beyond that was removing the heavy blue casting from the shadows and ground detail. On bigger fix ups I will normally mention that a lot of creative license has been taken or link back to the NASA archive shot for comparison. If people are interested in knowing what has gone on I'll make more of an effort to explain things but I also have a couple of tutorials in the gallery that go into some of the more in-depth restoration techniques.

ok, that's fair. If you can provide more detail that'd be great, but if you're usually doing the same types of things, than an occasional statement is just fine. Thanks.
