A rather beaten up looking shuttle parked on the runway at Edwards waiting for post flight operations to begin after its safe return from the STS-128 mission. For sure, much of the visible damage is just heat scorching from its re-entry into the atmosphere but to me, it seems that the shuttles look just that little bit more moth eaten every time they return.

WOW, that's anamzing capture even if it's from NASA.

I noticed that they painted the US flag backwards on the body after the United States. The stars are suppose to be on the left and stripe on the right. I'm orginially from NC but live now in Canada & I notice things like that.

I'd like to see Discovery, not that dark and not only the name. But I like the sky behind it.

the flag thing is because back in the old days when armies still carried flags into battle, they would always want to portray that they are advancing. It is the same I believe with arm patches worn by soldiers when the stars are always supposed to point toward the heart.

Interesting angle, rather unique shot. Almost of historical value.
