This was taken on Mesa Verde National Park here in Co. The building pictured here were occupied around 900AD. The "Anasazi" or as they are now known "Ancestral Puebloan" had to climb down approximately 500 feet each time they wanted to go somewhere at this site. There are plenty others and I'll be posting them, in the next few days. The elevation at the top is over 7000ft. A few years ago there was a huge fire that threatened the dwellings but mainly burned over 20,000 acres of trees.

Nice pic but I'm disappointed...I thought it was some kind of chili dish. Had to take my spoon back to the kitchen. Good work.

I always loved viewing and exploring these ruins. I find it interesting that some of the close-to-the-ocean shots I see from across the pond resemble these in that they are stacked on top of each other and look like cliff dwellings :)
