A flock of lapwings flying over farmland at sunset. Lapwings are very colourful and shiny, and have a white crest on their heads; also a lovely 'song'. they are members of the plover family.
this photo was taken at 480mm.
the horizon looks unstraight, but it isnt its just the sloping fields.

SOOOO beautifl! Yet another inspiration for a canvas painting of mine..I love the silhouttes and that blazing orange...just fantastic!!! I can almost hear those birds..even tho I've never heard those particular kinds before...Lovely photo!!

I like! "10".. When the blue sky turns to gold.. and the depth gets lost into pattern.. It is easy to see rivers and sand dunes in the sky.. the pallette of images reversed.

favourites at once! :) i love this silhouette image.. it's full of wonderful contrasts.. those lapwings look wonderful on the orange sky.. and the sky itself looks magical, those shades are beautiful.. i would like this one even without the lapwings birds.. but this way, it looks as a true masterpiece and will reside in my favourites :)
oh and..this image has three parts.. the upper darker part of the sky, the middle orange one and the black silhouette part on the bottom.. those parts are like some kind of a flag :D heh.. just noticing.. i don't know what else to say except - congratulations on this outstanding image!

Well, there are sunset photos and then there are sunset photos with a little bit of action in them. Love the birds in flight. The yellow/ornage colors of this sunset are extremely pleasing to my eye. Silouette is perfect in location and size. A very relaxing scene Phillip.It will give rest to my soul on many an occassion. Thks for sharing.
