I do believe we're all connected. I do believe in positive energy. I do believe in the power of prayer. I do believe in putting good out into the world. And I believe in taking care of each other. -Harvey Fierstein Hallelujah
Lisa, your wonderful illustration reminds me of the mythology of Ka-Ata-Killa, pre-Inca.
"When the Spaniards arrived in Peru they were told by the Incas that in the ancient days when there was no sun but only the moon and the stars, there lived a race of giants who built palaces and temples at Tiahuanaco. To them came a prophet who proclaimed the coming of the sun. The children of night, however, did not believe him and stoned him. Nevertheless, the sun rose and under its rays the godless race all perished and their bodies petrified into colossal blocks of stone. Another version says they were punished for having sacrificed to the moon goddess, Ka-Ata-Killa."

Thanks for both this excellent creation and a well chosen narrative, inclusive a the link showing a huge choir (1500 singers) with Rufus Wainwright. This artwork gives us hope and inspiration, Lisa'. Great level of artistry!

A nice creation and prayer is a strong subject to proclaim. Grace is a profound title to utter. Good work Lisa. I like the moodiness and the color scheme enhances that. Like your moon!:)
Hi Lisa beautiful work composition color all good but did wonder think this would have worked just as well without the Moon is always the artists choice of course I myself am often busy with what can I add now my focus is do I need it kinda thing. Don't mean mamalistic just that the beauty was already there. And for sure everyone will know its moonlight. Must say I never comment on a Artists choice but just kinda felt the image was worth it. Huummmpfhh...looking for words here .... well let's say the Mona Lisa with a rose between her teeth kinda thing.
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
Rob, I genuinely appreciate your observation and insight. I guess the moon and stars visually represented the heavens to me. But looking at it with fresh eyes, from your perspective, I can see what you're saying.
(P.S. - Laughed at the image of Mona Lisa with a rose in her teeth. lol)
Thank you for speaking up and sharing from your own accomplished artistic experience. I appreciate the different perspective and the kindness within the offering of ideas. :)
Your mischievous imp so surprised me ... (Gullible Lisa, "Oh, Les has a suggestion! Reads on expectantly ...), that I burst out into laughter at the "imp's" suggestion.
Ahhh ... Too good! (Wipes away tears. Laughs some more.)
Thank you for taking the time to comment, for the compliments, and for gifting me with a delightful surprise of genuine laughter. You made my day! :)
P.S. - You are an awesome artist. I know you could produce whatever you set your mind to create.
