I went on my annual three-day all-male silent retreat again this weekend with the Jesuits to one of the most beautiful places I know. There is an old column of oak trees - many decades old that runs right through the center of the ante-bellum plantation-style old Jefferson College. The priests there have apparently decided that one magnificent column of ancient gnarled trees isn't enough, and they've planted three more. This is one of them, and while meditating in them at sunset I saw this sight. I'm not religious, but Wow! I thought it just has feeling.

Regmar, this image made me speechless ... It reminds me some of your early works which I love so much !!!! Same atmosphere I guess ... and magic dreamy beauty associated with some distantly religious element ...

The ecclesiastic beauty of your photograph is amazing. I am moved by its serenity. I think there is significance in the fact that you caught this image, bearing in mind that you said you are not religious. It is a very special indeed. Excellent photography indeed.

What a wonderfully spiritual (not religious) image you captured Reg. I can almost hear the silence and feel the awe as you saw this image come to life. This has your stamp all over it. You do such great interpretive work, that I find myself just staring at your photographs. I also was on retreat this past weekend, although it was not a silent one. I was with 29 other women :)).......I chose not to use my camera because I can be distracted by keeping busy with looking for/finding that 'perfect shot',so I had it along, but I did leave it in the car. :(

Incredible photo my friend, the light that you capture, make it that the image could have a very nice atmosphere, and the cristh its very unique, make that the image have some feeling that i've seen in no much image. Congratulations. Beautiful image.
