The Mississippi River crested yesterday from its historical height, and began to fall, but my client, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers opened the flood-gates along the river to allow river water to spill out across the open land directly into the Gulf of Mexico. They do this to keep the water levels down at New Orleans, so the levees won't break or be submerged. My client asked me to go get some photos for their publications, and I shot this one to give a live face to the mechanical descriptions of my client's operations at the flood control structure.
Lovely capture and DT. Well done!
