Rules Broken: The Sunny 16 Rule- Didnt match the light to the exposure taken in the photo. FRAMING- no framing. The Rule of Thirds - Subject is centered. Subject is looking away from the camera. His reflection on the water is cut off. Subject slightly out of focus. The light is coming from behind the object instead of from the side as the texture rule says. Well, good luck to everyone in the contest! :D

I like the fuzzyness of the "object": it actually gives him a soft look. And the water is so perfect that I want to go swimming... soft ripples... soft swan... I don't know anything about rules but this pic is very nice.

Nice shot Ron. This is one of those pictures that would benefit greatly from a little photoshop work...using levels to adjust the contrast and intensity and maybe the saturation brush to bring out some of the colors. Good job.

Thanks for posting a picture to show us what NOT to do. I never thought of the cut off reflection. tehe, it's kind of funny how it's some people's fave. Man, they must go gaga over the shots that were actually supposed to be good!
