The blue sky makes a great background Rob. Excellent DOF. A very enjoyable and easy to look at scene.

The perfect red color my friend. Red is hard to bring detail out in and yours is great.

Very good detail in capturing this brilliantly red rose, Rob. I've found that capturing flowers in red or white in direct sunlight is a tricky situation. But I'm not surprised that you did a splendid job on this. Since I post flower shots about as often as you do, I'm no expert. Caedes friends have told me that the best flower shots should have a dark, blurred back which makes the flower "pop". With the bright blue sky as a backdrop I think that they might be right since I seem to have a problem transitioning between the powerful red and the dynamic blue. But since I've never taken a flower shot half as good as this. I'll give you a 7.

A little shallower depth of field could be nice. I find the trees slightly distracting. Excellent capture of the roses! Color and saturation are perfect. I think the blue sky works well as a complementary color too.

A nice angle in your capture of these lovely roses, Rob. Beautiful rich colours in the rose petals. Nice work.
