Have tryed B&W many times never got any thing I really liked but I am happy with this one let me know what you think.

As for a black and white it very good and i like how the detail in the main subject stands out in this photo.Well done nice capture.

The subject material is dramatic enough that either way would probably be as effective. I always liked B&W anyway.

We all use the terms black and white and monotone. This is nearly black and white because of the extreme contrast but it's still shades of gray. I always assumed that Xenonites could see in our wavelength of the color band anyway.
Whatever you want to call it, the shot is impeccable. Beautiful details and some stark lighting makes this a winner.

Rob - Is this train under repair? Perhaps some painting down the road? Having completed that not too long ago, it needing repair so soon should not be construed as reflecting poorly on the repairman. Rather, it is caused by the age of the rail car. Harshly stark - well done. Thad
