This wood lies on the steep slopes and valley floors of the River Walkham and the River Tay. Grenofen Wood supports a diverse lichen flora, with over 80 species recorded, including a number of rare and uncommon ones. The trees are mainly Pedunculate and Sessile Oak with occasional Silver Birch, Rowan and Hazel with Alder and Alder Buckthorn found on the flatter slopes near the river. Dipper and Grey Wagtail breed near the river, which is also used by Otters.

Splendid, my good man. I could just sit there up against that tree for hours looking at those trees and the brook, or stream. Looks to be a beautiful place. You have done yourself proud with this picture. I love it.

Good comp, great exposure and a real feel of late spring in this one Mark. Did you put it thru some kind of filter mate? At full size it has a quality I can't put my finger on. Whatever you did, it worked a treat. :)

The light makes this shot Mark, you really caught it at a beautiful time of day and from just the right angle. I like the composition very much, with the curving line of the bank and the brook. Woodland scenes can look boring as there's not much to break up the green, but this one has a lovely fresh, calm atmosphere. Nice work.
