Hello Khaled...and once again you post a photo with feeling. You say sweet potatos? I assume that is whats in the bag on the cart? Is that an oven next to the man? Does he cook them there and sell them? If so, that's a wonderful idea!! Such a healthy item, and when they are hot, especially on a cold day, they would be a great thing to sell. He is so intense in the way he look, maybe wondering what that day will bring. Thank yu again my friend, for posting a photo like this. I appreciate them very much...verena
What a wonderful friend are you! I really like your full critic about each photo I am posting. I saw your last couple photos today and I vote but I was in rush to leave my office. But I left a comment about your yesterday one. "Hearts"
Yes you are 100% correct this man cooks the potato in that over and he fires it with wood. Every time when I go to Egypt I must eat from these Hot potatoes 0.50 cents a piece “Hot and sweet”. This Potato cart is for poor men who are seeking any income and when we make jokes on any friend he call him” go and sell potato" that is mean he will get poor and nuts soon.
Thanks for this view of something I've never seen. So that gentleman is selling hot potatoes to make money ? Good for him ! I like this street scene, it's so lively & colorful.
A man making an honest living in a destitute land. I imagine he works many long hours every day and probably has to gather his own wood and grow and dig his own potatoes. I bet these would be very good cooked over an open fire and I'll take your word that they are Khaled. Your photos have a way of making people realize how lucky they are and maybe less hesitant to complain about silly little things that really have no merit.I just want to thank you for making me realize how lucky I am to be me. :)
Definitely, your work is both artistic and journalistic. But in this forum...as art...it reaches people unexpectedly, so this is good. Some people avoid journalism...maybe because we do not like seeing realism. Your work reaches right into my heart.
