Must apologise for the lack of sharpness. Both of us were on moving rafts, about 200 feet apart. Didn't think I had the shot as it only lasted a fraction of a second. When I did finally see it I couldn't believe what had happened to it's wings. If any of you have ever seen this wing-fold trick, you know that it looks like some monster has chewed them off. They appear all bloody and crushed. I have a burst of this one flying away, just seconds later with full wing spread.

It does look like someone chewed off or cut off part of the wings. An amazing capture, Doug and the heron definitely has the Karate Kid stance perfected. Very nice.
