Deep in the Colorado mountains is Crystal. A small mining Ghost Town that once had a population of about 400. They mined Silver, Lead etc, but no Gold. There are still a few homes and cabins a few hundred yards up the road, but only inhabited during the summer. The access road is classified as 4 wheel drive.

I recently watched the series "Klondike," on the Discovery Channel.
This reminds me of the show.
This photo oozes atmosphere, Doug. I bet they mined a mind full of memories.
Excellent post.

I really like the rugged rustic feel of this image, I see it's starting to fall into the river below. Your presentation is superb. Tigs♥ =^..^=

I was just looking at the "500" list- a chrome extension- and this was among the images presented. There are hundreds of image from this now 'famous' mill and this captures it oh so well Doug!!! Well done....although a bit dark for my tastes but otherwise a powerful and expressive shot!!

It must be like living next to an airport or railroad with that constant rushing waterfall. Well done, Doug.

I think the building inspector might have missed this little gem when passing out the permits. Wonderful tonal contrasts and textures in your photo, Doug.
