in honor of the full harvest moon I went down to the chatham fish pier... and howled as it rose over the harbor... actually I didn't howl, it was chatham, where a sense of some sort of decorum is a requirement to get in... so instead I took pictures from the deck out back... and having forgotten the tripod I steadied the camera on the railing and took a deep breath...

Mary this is an elegant composition captured under challenging conditions. That railing must have been crooked as your horizon there is a wee bit aslant but everything else in this is just delicious. That blue palette is ethereal. Great shot.

Yes, it feels like I am there. I've stayed on the Cape many times, but I wonder what it must be like to live there, especially after the summer crowd has gone home. This is really lovely, Mary, the boats in the full moon like this. That must have made it a lot easier to see your subjects.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes
