this is a replica of the stony brook grist mill (brewster, cape cod) originally built here in 1775... it was the first water-powered grist and woolen mill built in America... it's in operation during the summer months and there's a museum of historic exhibits upstairs...the mill is adjacent to the brewster stony brook herring run.... and I finally got a decent picture of it from this angle! autumn has let in enough light so I could take advantage of this vantage point...

I agree that it looks like a painting. I think the color of the mill is what does it, it's such an unusual color and contrasts so much with the foliage around it that it just looks unreal. A really beautiful scene...

Finally got a decent picture of it--I reckon!! Colors are haunting and reflections are hypnotizing. Just a magnificient piece of work that belongs in favorites. So I put in there. Great photo, Mary.
