there were so many gulls at the stony brook herring run (brewster) that the competition was fearsome and the birds were granting eachother no quarter... those that failed to gulp down their prizes immediately found themselves in a tug-of-war, sometimes three or four to a fish... (must be viewed full screen for all the detail!)

Very well done, Mary. This is as crisp and clear as if I were standing there myself. Excellent view and a very good subject as well!

We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"

Excellent capture Mary. The blood is showing on their beaks. A great stop action shot. It deserves the high marks it has received.

Great timing and very good clarity/sharpness for a scene that must have been very dynamic and fast moving.

Almost ... balletic in your presentation Mary. I imagine it was much more chaotic than what your image shows, your composition though makes it seem much more choreographed and graceful.

Yeah, really a great composition. Add in the sparkles coming off of the water ... a very attractive photo. Hope that doesn't sound too too trite.

Good colours, good detail, good exposure. Hard to tell what time of day this was taken ... methinks it was a challenge all the way around. Very well done.

And but of course, thank you for sharing this one with us. :o)
