the wave crested to ten feet, and I thought it looked like some sort of sea monster, with a wide open snaggle-toothed mouth...

I think you are right HF. I can see why your feet are always running. I knew a big wave when I was in the Air Force but she wasn't this big. Beautiful colors and such a powerful shot. Good post.

Mary, wonderful picture. You have captured all of the strength and energies of the wave. Having also been in the air force, I am still chuckling over Tick's pun.

So this is where Nessie goes on her summer vacation. She must like dining on the tourists. LOL

I bet those feet were scurrying the other way in the few seconds after this was taken. Powerful and aggressive..what a great action shot, proving once again why you were nominated and picked as AOTM.

A really good wave shot Mary. As you know I've taken a few myself and they are not the easiest things in the world to get right - if you're too far away then the picture loses impact. If you're too near you get wet!! It's hard.

Not sure I see the sea monster but as an "action" shot, I think this is great. Thanks for sharing, Mary.

Man, that was some great timing to capture this monster in action like that!
