I went back to sesuit harbor to see if any of the ospreys were still around... mother and father were gone but the three fledglings were still hanging onto the security of the old nest... this one seemed agitated, she (he?) was calling loudly and circling the area, apparently carrying something... it took me a minute to understand she had gotten a length of old fishing net, used in the nest, tangled in her long talons...

Well I hope he got himself untagled...but in the meantime what a spectacular catch. The focus is suprb and the stop-action is dead on! Another superb post, Mary!

What a dilemma. I join the rest of the gang in hoping the poor thing got rid of tangle. You've caught the power of this bird.

What a great Capture Mary. Brids in flight are tough. I sure hope it was able to get the net out of it's claws.

Such a shame to see a BOP like this in distress Mary

Their a much loved bird, & highly valued amongst birdwatchers. However game keepers still shoot, & poison them, while sad egg collectors still steal their eggs. :o(
I was gonna say a great shot but I'm all sad now

MAGNIFICENT capture Mary. Sure hope he/she is going to be OK and grows up really big, strong and wise. Your shot has really outstanding colours and great detail of the Osprey. Do you know is she's OK now?
