I think this would make a great fake tin type with some more work on adding old picture artifacts. some of the effects might even fix the blown out area as well (but if you look at old tin types, they could have a hard time controlling such things, so the blow out could be believable). I like where this one is going.
What a fantastic view from the top! The various types of architecture are interesting Sarah, and I like seeing all those "tiny" people enjoying the day. Hope you have some more shots from this area :^>
Unfortunately, my shortfall of knowledge of architecture will not help me figure out which city this is. Photographically speaking, it isn't really important. I like the contrast between the lovely cathedral and the modern apartment (?) building immediately in front of it. I know you are limited in choice of vantage points, so the comment that I find the back of this apartment building significantly less interesting than the church building is a little unfair. Nice depth to this picture and I think the blowout is minor because the pic moves evenly from a dark foreground to a light background.
i really like this..it jumped out at me when I first looked at it..I love the composition and the the black and white..it has a kind of 'glow' to it that's quite unique..well done!
Fantastic! This is quite nice. I really like the change in contrast of the old cathedral and the modern buildings. The change of brightness as you look further into the distance is fantastic and the image itself as a somewhat an overall glowiness to it. A lovely shot.
Oh and a great view as well...where was this taken?
