Apo & Photofiltre. I like how this one turned out, and I hope you do too :) I thought it resembled suction cups of an octopus. Best viewed in full screen. Thanks for all the looks. Comments and critiques are always welcome.

Some fun facts about Octopuses: They have the ability to problem solve, similar to humans; They are completely deaf; 1920 total suction cups; If an arm is cut off, it can regenerate it; It has no bones; Only anatomical structure is the beak, which is similar to fingernails; It can instantly change the color and texture of its skin to match its surrounding area; It has 3 hearts; its blood is light blue; its black ink can even dull its predator's sense of smell; and their bodies can squeeze through a hole the size of a 10-cent coin.

Have a great day! ~Lori

Gorgeous and mesmerizing! Love those tiny luminescent spots! This is so creative and does look like the bottom of an octopus!

There are other unique things about octopi, and I know them from personal experience -- among my duties as a Navy Seabee, I was a scuba diver. My P.A.D.I. instructor saw one with arms approximately 18" in length fit its entire body into a crack only a couple inches wide. If you find one that has a door into their home that's actually big enough to see or reach into, you can shine a light on him. If there's one available, he will hold a shell up in front of his face, maybe to block the light, or maybe he thinks that if he can't see you, you can't see him. If you have a pole along you can reach in with it and, striking the shell and breaking it (carefully not to hurt octo), you sit back and wait. In a few minutes you may likely see pieces of shell being tossed out the "door," cleaning the debris from his home. Also, if you see a lobster sitting in front of a hole with one antennae forward and one back, it means that there is either an octo or a moray eel in the hole. Both critters toss their unwanted food and debris out the door and the lobster will wait to get it, even though he is prime chow for both the octo and the eel. He knows it and doesn't trust either one so that's why one of his antennae is pointing back towards the hole... just in case.
