I waited all spring and summer for the leaves to fall from this tree to take the shot. I wasn't quite happy with the sky so went back the next day to try again and the tree had been struck by lightning - effectively making this the final shot.

Wow, what a beautiful capture! It makes me think of the scene in Gone With the Wind when Scarlet is standing in the field and says, "As God is my witness, I'll never go hungry again . . ., " or maybe that was another scene. Anyway, senility is setting in, so I better go . . .
