This image is for my friend Pastor Madonna who's birthday is coming up. I have a collection of antiquities and everything in this image is part of that collection. The cross itself is from North Africa and was worn during the Coptic period, 400 to 500 A.D. It's approximately 1,500 years old and I like to believe it was someones prized possession at the time. It is ancient Egyptian silver with silver beads. "The Coptic cross is a form of the cross which is worn by Coptic Christians, Christians who live in some parts of Northern Africa, especially in Egypt. Like other Christians, Copts wear the cross as a symbol of their faith, and it symbolizes Christ, His sacrifice, and the eternal love of God. The Coptic cross is often incredibly detailed and quite beautiful." The terracotta piece it's lying against is a small household bottle from the time of Christ, 100 B.C - 100 A.D. and most likely held oils or spices. The larger terracotta piece is from the time of Moses, 1550 - 1200 B.C. and was likely used for wine. I hope that some of you will enjoy this image and as usual all comments are welcomed. Happy Birthday, Madonna -
