My husband and I celebrated our anniversary on Minnesota's North Shore this week. We stayed in a very nice place which had this fire ring not far from our room on the shore of Lake Superior. We started the fire and just sat and took in everything about this beautiful evening. I recorded the fire, the sweeping light from the lighthouse and what I could see of the waves at night for as long as I could, so I could take the sounds home with me and listen to them whenever I need to. The sound of the waves crashing against the rocks and shore, the geese and the harbor sounds were so soothing and made a really wonderful memory. ***I wish I could send all of you these peaceful sounds too! I missed all of my Caedes friends quite a bit and I hope all are well!

Just thinking about those sounds is making the eyelids heavy, Tina. I hope I don't fall face first into the fire.
Happy Anniversary. Good shot.

I never saw a fire ring like that. I know what you are saying. I've often thought it would be nice to include the sounds of a setting with an image. But you could post them on Youtube. Glad you had a wonderful anniversary. It seems a wonderful way to celebrate.

In my book it doesn't get any better than a relaxing fire on one of the Great Lakes . Just the thought of such a lovely scene and sounds is calming and peaceful. Great shot, Tina. Happy Anniversary !

What an awesome picture; the Magic of Fire and the way it pulls in and focuses energy...one of the reasons it is so easy to gaze into a fire....cool stuff. It's an important and heart-felt event as well my Friend.

A lovely shot of the fire and a touching narrative Tina. I once stayed with my wife in a hotel where our room was only 100 feet from the waves. It is such a relaxing sound - although not new to me as a lifelong seafarer:)

What a lovely image this is Tina, and a wonderful reminder of what sounds a great celebration of your anniversary that you will long remember.
What a fine idea to record the sounds. I love the sound of the sea and often go and sit at our harbour in my lunch break just to listen to the sea and the gulls :)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

I hear the sounds, Tina. I just turned on my virtual reality audio software. LOL. That is a very warming shot, and a great narrative to go along with it. Happy Belated Anniversary, and may you have many many more years together!

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
