Looking for lunch

My daughter needed to do a project on wetlands for college, so she and I went to the Crex Meadows Wildlife Area so she could get some pictures. While we were there, we saw these racoons fishing for lunch. It was a little tough to get a shot of them because my little Olympus doesn't zoom quite that far and it was so cold and windy outside that day that we almost needed mittens! The wildlife area is about 15 miles from my home.

Cool capture my Friend. I can see their masked little faces looking back at you; and, the wind is definitely a factor in this colorful and wild scene.

You did get a good shot of the colourful grassy land even if the raccoons are not so clear. Good capture Tina.

That's really cool the way their eyes look lit up. They live in beautiful surrounding, don't they? Excellent shot, Tina.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

They look like the bandits they are in this shot, Tina. Unusual to see them out during the daylight hours.

I love the fall colors and the natural look to this Tina.
Those little Bandits are adorable. I had a baby this spring who I assume lost his Mother decide to move in to my barn and hang out with my barn cats.
They love cat food . A local vet and friend of mine was able to catch him . He had a leg injury but responded to treatment and is now living with his own kind in a rehabilitation center.

Wetlands in the fall look so colorful. The raccoons liked it too I guess. Things will look a little different when they are through.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

These old eyes of mine had to look to see the raccoons, but I found them! Thinking you captured the feel of the wind in both the grasses and the rippled water. I also like the soft play of the greens and browns in the foreground.

my best images happen by accident. there is so much to be seen in the minutiae surrounding us that we often miss the very best.
