This is from our vegetable garden. We planted red potatoes and this is the beautiful bloom.

I'm very pleased with our garden this year. We have not done one in some time and this year we have tried some different variations of tomatoes, peppers and beans. I'm proud to say that we have green beans, waxed beans and purple carrots froze. Also made sauerkraut, canned peppers and relish, and what is even better my other half and a buddy are doing all of this. It's a shared effort!

Thanks for your views, and comments. Have a great day!

Splendid lighting and what a great color combo of the purple flowers and the orange-brown background. Great dof. I wondered how you had time for canning, Sandi, until I read the rest of your narrative. lol

Stunningly beautiful. Just the right shade of purple in the petals and the frame. Everything else is right on, too.

Sounds like a busy and productive summer around your home Tigz. I always liked potato blooms but not as much as mashed and noodles. Excellent post.

Wonderful shot and presentation Sandi. There is alot of beauty out there that goes totally unnoticed. Thank you for sharing this. Those frozen garden goodies will be very welcome this winter.

A fine capture of the bloomin' po'tater, Sandi. That beauty looks better than any of the flowers in my yard. Great post.

From what I have heard so far the most beautiful is the artichoke blossom.
Now I am going to check the things more thoroughly !!! LOL

I don't think I've ever seen potato blooms ... the purple is striking set against the light brown / tan background. I like your framing too. Excellent work Sandi & would love to try some of your canned relish. + faves!

Beautiful capture, Sandi! I too, have never seen the bloom of a potato plant. The bloom shows up wonderfully against the muted colours in the background and is truly complimentary! I love the recessed framing too! I don't have too much to harvest from my garden yet, but did have plans to do some canning later in the season. My favorite... pickled jalapenos and tomato marinara :) Excellent work here!

For some reason I thought that potatoes had white flowers. When I was younger, my father use to grow all our own vegetables and some fruit. I was not a huge fan of them then. But now there the things I miss the most!! Strage how our tastes change with age. I love your well prestented shot. Lyn.
