This little girl is the granddaughter of the older couple that live across the street from my mom.
I don't have much contact with little ones anymore, but this little girl, and I have bonded.
Whenever she comes to visit we go for bike rides, and chat. She recently told me I was her best friend, and then after a bit of thought this 7 year old told me I was her big sister. :) She was there yesterday, and I asked if I could take some pics. of her, and as you can see I did take some. Of course I sent them to Betty her grandmother by email. I have 3 that I would like to share with you.

How nice to have a younger friend these days. They are hard to come by as most are connected by social media and have little social interaction with one another, let alone adults. She's a pretty girl and she has the coolest name...Brooklyn. Thanks for sharing Sandi.

She's a little gem, Sandi. I have some tips but want to see the others first. She's obviously loving the attention, but still a bit uncomfortable. Probably doesn't want to make a mistake.

As above one very cute little girl and you photo is outstanding I love how you have the brown in the fire surround balancing with the tan of the girls skin and the detail plus composition to this photo is outstanding Sandi. Looking again the colours are perfectly balanced in this photography .

I like the bare feet. It gives her back a bit of "the child" look and contrasts nicely with the "grown-up" dress and make-up.

All my impressions are exactly those which our SAC has just said! The little bare feet, innocent and having this special baby plumpness, form the child's part of this girl who is somehow torn between wanting to wear her big sister's make-up and grown up dress. Don't we all, girls, remember clearly those tender years of our lives...? The early part of the end of childhood and slowly beginning of womanhood. Very moving image, dear SAS.

Very nice natural soft light for your photo. I much prefer it to flash on camera. Getting the eyes are a bit of a challenge with natural light without some sort of reflector. Having said all that I think you did a great job Sandi.

they are naturals at this age..how can this shot not put a smile on your face when viewed :) so well arrangeed with color contrast & her pose. mantle to the fireplace was a great touch.
