This pretty boy is a umbrella cockatoo, and was a big ham for the camera.

The owners of this beautiful cockatoo became new parents, and between the caring of a newborn and this bird who wanted to be the center of attention, well they had to make a choice.

I used the 40D with the canon 70-300 IS USM lens, f/stop 5.6. The attendant was walking around with him, because normally he would be in a bird cage, and I have never been able to get a good one through the cage wire.

Thanks for commenting, and I hope everyone has a good day.

Sharp image of the cockatoo Sandi. Looks very nice against the dark background and you got him/her here in a good pose.

Well, a bird on your hand is worth....

An excellent photo, Sandi and I wonder if the bird is trying to tell us something!

A great capture Sandi. Sometimes when a bird is sitting on an arm the arm looks out of place but your vignetting takes care of that and it looks wonderful. The lighting is perfect.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
