Earlier this month I went to a dog agility trial with my friend Carolyn who runs her dog Lexie.
Used the 40D with the canon 70-200mm f4/L lens.
If you look at her right ear it looks like it is missing, but she does have two of them. Lol! I think it was flattened down behind her.

My dog would have stopped short of the hoop, sniffed it for a while, and then walked around it. I had him trained perfectly! LOL. Lexie looks like a smart and alert pooch, so I know she did what was expected of her. Thanks for sharing this excellent shot, Sandi.

Good angle for the shot Sandi. You have the motion capture really good and got the dog in focus even though the hoop is what the camera would have desperately tried to focus in on instead.
