Monarch Release #4

After a monarch is released they need to dry, and like a warm surface, this one fluttered to this ladies hand. Sometimes they are very still, and others take flight quickly, I guess it depends on how dry they are when my friend Brenda takes them out of the butterfly house she has on her porch.

The ones that appear early in the season, have the shortest life cycle, I believe there are 3 main life cycles and the ones that you see later in the year, have the longest life span, and are the ones that migrate.

Thank you for commenting, I do appreciate it.

Another good one of the baby Monarch on its first minutes after birth. Nicely captured Sandi.

It's a beauty Sandi - so often when I see them they are a bit "moth-eaten" with damage to the tips of their wings. this one is perfect!

This one is my favorite in the series although #2 is excellent too. You handled a difficult lighting situation very well. It looks like you friend was holding her hand up to block the light from an atomic bomb blast. I hope that you all survived and are not overly radioactive.

Madame Butterfly is popping nicely against the bright background. Well done, Sandi.

Sandi, Raj has made me smile with his comment, in particular because of the words 'baby Monarch'. But he's right. When one view your image, it's hardly to imagine (because of its size) that this is a 'youngster'.
Perfectly taken macro and a wonderful addition to this series, my friend.
Very well done!

Sandi - Another wonderful photo for the Monarch series! I like the bright, blurred background showing well the butterfly and drying hand.
