I did some research after your first shot and found out these were once called double tulips which is how I knew them. They've been working on further development of them and came up with the peony tulip name to market them more accurately because of the resemblance to peonies. Always something new! Another excellent shot Sandi!

Sandi, I've read with interest Kathy's comment. In my previous comment I expressed my surprise at the early time when the peonies were in bloom. Now I've the explanation for that. She has done a perfect research. Kathy: thanks for that. Thank you also for another beautiful capture of the early blooming peony tulips.
