This Tiki sculpture was moved to the grounds of the hotel where I stayed in Kauai from an historic site that was now being developed. It is carved from wood and seems to glow at times - I tried to capture that effect in this shot. All comments and critiques appreciated. PS: After the fact I noticed someone else had posted a tiki today - if one tiki is good luck then two in one day must be very good luck.

I hope he's very lucky, too, Kathy. He's certainly a fearsome looking chap. The strong lighting certainly does create a 'glowing' effect and I like the way it's reflected in the leaves.

Were you and Rebecca (rforres) over there together? She posted a Tiki today, too. Very nice shot of it, Kathy. It reminds me of a guy I used to work with. LOL.

Kathy - If the eyes start to glow and the jaw moves - stand back! With the palm fronds in the background, the tiki is in a very natural looking environment. Real nice lighting in your photo. Thad

Fabulous shot of this distinguished looking fellow, Kathy. The lighting's brilliant. If he's some sort of rain-god, we could certainly do with him in our garden.

Kathy...

First of all I apologize for the delay and brevity. I have over 50 comments to take care of; so I will keep this relatively brief by my standards.

First of all, thank you. This shot, as you know, is not a flower. So thank you thank you thank you.

Interesting border, nice colors, exceptional subject matter. The wood seems a little overexposed. However, I have not looked at a photo in a week; so maybe my eyes are broken.
