A relative newcomer to the apple world this is cross between a very old apple variety Cox's Orange Pippin,a Golden Delicious and a Cortland. A yellow apple with a red/orange blush it was due to be picked the week after I visited the orchards. Too bad I didn't get to try it as it sounded delicious when described as sweet/tart and very crisp.

Johnny Appleseed would have to start all over with this variety, Kathy.
I bet it is as crisp as the photo.

Lovely shot Kathy!
Cox's Orange and Golden Delicious are two of my faves (after our NZ Braeburn) so I think this one will be splendid!

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
