Been off about a week - rather unplanned -company, holidays and computer problems all came into play. Back to semi-normal now and a post from my recent visit to the prairie restoration area near my home. The wetlands are very wet this year as we had over 10" of rain in June alone. This egret was enjoying the very wet conditions and the abundant supply of crayfish. I used a little Orton to highlight this one when editing.

Wish we had some of your rain Kathy, because it's extremely dry here. Cost me a lot of extra effort to keep my garden in a good condition.

Understand by your narrative that the egret uses the advantages of so many showers very well. With a belly full of fish there's no need for it to fly away instantly, giving you the opportunity so to make this splendid capture.
